We invite you to share the Thanksgiving Dinner Drive with your friends

For the past 10 years, through the generosity of people like you, The Real Gift Foundation (TRGF) has provided Thanksgiving Dinner for homeless children and their families. In 2008, we fed over 21,000 people.

With the huge increase in our homeless population due to the tough economic times, the need for the assistance we provide is greater than ever.

That's why this year we are asking you to spread the word about our Thanksgiving Dinner Drive to your friends, family and co-workers.

• In order to assist you, we are providing you with a sample e-mail that you can send out to everyone on your e-mail list and a sample flyer (.pdf) to hand out at your office, gym or church or take them to your dry cleaner or local coffee house and ask if you can hang one up there.

• Other ways to spread the word: put a link to the TRGF web site (www.TheRealGift.org) on your Facebook or MySpace page or tweet about it.

• $25 feeds a family of 6. Create a goal for how many families you want to feed and go for it!!!

Hello, I am writing to you on behalf of The Real Gift Foundation (TRGF). They benefit the over 15,000 homeless children in Maricopa County Schools in direct, positive and meaningful ways.

In November, The Real Gift Foundation began their 10th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Drive — a project to fund Thanksgiving dinners for homeless families with students in more than 60 Phoenix area schools. Last year TRGF distributed 3500 meals, which fed over 21,000 people.

What TRGF provides are pre-cooked dinners that include an 8-10 pound turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, and more. Through their various partnerships TRGF is able to purchase the dinners for $25 each, which will feed 6 people. These Thanksgiving dinners feed families that would otherwise go without.
